Found this video on making silicone coated cotton and thought it may be of interest. Guess would work with nylon as well but would think better near fires with cotton.

Yup - that thought is what is holding me back too..... I reckon cooking first is the way to go, i'll let you know if I ever muster the guts to give it a try. I'm good thanks, life in rural Wilts is great.

Lol I know what you mean. Most of our soups are like that and need a little ‘loosening’ We regularly make soup, usually mixed veg or a mixed bean soup.
