If travelling light......look at the Sierra Designs Cloud or Backcountry (down) zipless bags. If weight and bulk are not an issue, Snugpak (synthetic fill) do the "Elite" range which have built in expansion panels, and other bags can have zip in expansion panels? I have both Sierra and Snugpak...

I empathise with several posts made above, having done so, my hypocrisy allowed me to buy from AE, a Lightour R 7 + lightweight inflatable pad at a good price that I otherwise wouldn't have afforded.................... It's to go with a Sierra Designs Cloud 800 zipless bag. American company...

I'm with you on this and was wondering if one of the "Lay Flat" designs might work. I don't know if anyone here has used one? I have bought a NightCat Lay Flat, but have yet to try it as a hammock. Works well as a bivvy on the ground though.......

An excellent bit of kit for its purpose....and that is NOT sitting upright therein in storms. It is a "bivvy tent"......... compact, very waterproof, very wind resistant, well ventilated. Very discrete when required. Good for tall people too!
