Gave the sas bivi a go last night. Apart from being a sod to get into with the medium sleeping bag I was snug as. Zero condensation. It was under a tarp but wind swung round and some rain and sleet came in but no issues. I was up early because some thing was sliding around on the tarp and I...
Hi yes have a dryer. It’s spread in the van at the moment until we get back after Christmas. It’s giving it an interesting aroma. Once we back will bath it with some down soap then pop in dryer. Fingers crossed it revives it and smell improves or it will be bin job :(
Picked this up today. Might be 15 quid down pan but wouldn’t be first time.
In half tidy nick. Bit damp and could do with clean. I won’t be diving in as it is.
Would love to lob in washing machine get some heat in it to sort of sterilise it. But from what I read on here to its bath tub time...
Any one got one these ? I was gifted it 20 plus years ago. Used to use for duck shooting. All ways did notice it was nice and warm and some how kept the rain out. The material don’t feel water proof just like a clothe
Now I am getting into my bushcraft and camping it’s come onto my radar from...
They seem to be big military item but again how do they manage obstacles heavy cover etc. I see the benefits of keeping pack dry. Ideal for that and shelter. But once you hit woods or have to climb over stuff
They seem to be talked about a lot for bush craft and I see the benefits of there dual use as a shelter. But I look out the door today it’s lashing down I look at my nice shiny Dutch army poncho. I need to walk the dog but I know I have to get over a barb fence. Next I wanted to for a mooch...
Thanks for the comments good to know. The poncho arrived today. Perfect condition as new really from highland army surplus . Very pleased great service. Rarely see on eBay now. I may stick a liner on my list for future
Been after one for a while but to pricey as a rule. Then one popped up on Facebook £15 Needless to say I was straight on that. Fired it up for first time this morning for a quick coffee. Boiled mug water in no time. The pan also made a great comfortable cup to my surprise. So well chuffed with that
Cheers Dan I have since been provided setup info by kind chap and getting to set better now.
Just testing in day at moment until I take plunge. Hell of difference size wise between an old 2 man tent and modern one. It’s pretty big so need to find suitable spots.
Got Dutch army poncho on the way. Just fancied adding one to my kit. Any benefit to the liner from point of view of camping ? Looks useful though apparently quite thin. Could use for extra layer in the bivy or even maybe as under blanket in the hammock?
