No walking boot that sees regular use lasts 10 years. They do if you take them out for a walk a couple of occasions every year, but ten years? Forget it.
I use a ordinary household spoon from home. And sometimes even a fork! My coffe bag holds a silver teaspoon. Imagine that. Makeshift vampire utensil maybe?
I'm drawing and testing now.. :) You could use cotton or linen, but a lot of the idea and functionality gets lost. If this thing works out, there will be more sew-alongs. I hope one blanket will suffice. But in any case, get two. Blankets makes a nice material for a lot of things.
These older machines have two standards (or rightly more, but mostly two) of presser feet. Low-shank and high shank, I bet there are ways to measure this. But the thing is, high-shank presser feet are the same standard as todays industrial single needle lockstitch sewing machine presser feet...

I was quite close to jokkmokk during crimbo, had a nice -37... Not really fun being out when it's that cold. My record is -42.5, breaks in the ski trip were very quick!
Down jacket, or synthetic puffy jacket, and dito pants. Just wear them under something more fire resistant when close to a fire. Much much warmer per pound. I have used the m90 system when I was in service and they are ok if your in a mounted unit. Otherwise they are too heavy for what they are...
