    Spyderco UK Penknife ? ''Edited''

No worries. UKPK stands for UKPenKnife, a model developed with the (long gone) BritishBlades online forum's input. Some of the original contributors to the UKPK are on this very forum (I am not one of them). I personally prefer the Urban. I'll be interested to try the Metropolitan, which is in...

    Lyme disease vaccine getting nearer

That's really good to know, I was simply trusting what a neighbour had said and as it felt like it made sense (smaller, younger seeming less bad) that I didn't even check for myself. Much appreciated Chris.

    Lyme disease vaccine getting nearer

Thank you for the suggestion on this, the problem is its toxicity to cats which makes it a no go unfortunately. I appreciate the recommendation though Chris.

    Lyme disease vaccine getting nearer

I am not finding long trousers and sleeves effective these days, for some reason. The little nymphs (so thankfully not a real risk) are somehow finding their way in groups up - had eight wandering my forearm last weekend. Sock tucking only lasts so long, and gaiters are nasty in this heat...

    Spyderco UK Penknife ? ''Edited''

I would recommend putting up a Wanted advert for a real one to save on retail price, and then if you don't get on with it, sell it on. You're likely to get your money back on a second hand one as they're always a popular model. Fakes are not a good move when it comes to knives as you have no...

    Bivy’s

I use a bivi under a tarp, but usually find myself not in the bivi as it can get rather warm (a good thing sometimes). For extra piece of mind at certain times of year, I put up a mosquito net under the tarp to keep all sorts at bay. A little extra faff but it can help with the drifting off to...

    Ladder ? weird I know

Depressingly, when looking at a similar component for a loft ladder, it was cheaper to buy the entire ladder assembly than it was to just buy the small replacement parts from the distributor. Completely backwards and wasteful. Thankfully I found someone on eBay with the parts for sale for a...

    What did you buy today?

Thank you as always for your insight on this sort of thing! Though for the density calculation, the brass eyelets of the Expedition will be throwing off that weight comparison. I think they're the same material otherwise, based on details on others sites e.g. here...

    What did you buy today?

Is anyone aware of the advantage of the Expedition 12XL (1850 x 575 x 12mm) vs the Comfort 12XXL (1900 x 570 x 12mm) The latter is very slightly longer, half the price, and lighter presumably because it doesn't have the brass eyelets. Am I missing something? Both five season, both made in Wales...

    What did you buy today?

May I ask where from? I've just looked it up and am only finding discontinued, unavailable or sold out sales listings on various sites.

I've been looking at this one recently too https://www.sportingcutlery.co.uk/product/pre-owned-knives/traditional-german-hunting-knife/ I've always liked the natural guard that these designs create.
