    What has happened to Etsy?

I stepped away from them a couple of years ago now. They were really bad at hiding things and making things difficult for example payments made defaulted to monthly and to change that was a pain. They also kept increasing their cut of your sales and there’s a charge for keeping a shop on their...

    South West Bushcraft Show.

They posted on Facebook a couple of weeks ago that they will not be going ahead with this show until 2027.

    Ancestry DNA

Could it have something to do with genetics skipping a generation? In the same way twins or those with red hair can. Hmmm..

    Ancestry DNA

Thanks. Though that does seem expensive in some ways, unless you’re hopeful one of those distant cousins end up being a sheik? :-D

    Ancestry DNA

That’s interesting. But what do you mean by English and Scottish? Because that could mean Brythonic, Pictish, Roman or more. I’m sure “Norwegian” would probably have similar nuisance too. One thing that I’m curious about, following on from Hillbill’s reply, do they offer suggested...

    Ancestry DNA

Does anyone here have any experience of ancestry DNA? I’ve been thinking of getting a kit just out of curiosity. My ancestors have lived in the same geographical religion for 300+ years, and I know that’s only a minute portion of human history I’d be interested to know how far beyond that it...

    Waterproof Pen

Take your time, I’m sure you’ll see plenty. That’s a good busy team. I’m with South snowdonia. I dip in and out though depending on how busy things get, especially juggling with family etc now. But yes, it’s good to help those who need it.

    Permanent Fire Pit

Here’s one I made which is just the top section of an old oil drum with some rocks around it. I buried it a few inches in and laid sand around for insulation against the forest floor.

Yeah. Wales is pretty wet ;-) I suppose it is different for each team but anything of that nature the cas-carers would be under a bothy bag for us and the cas-card and sharpie would be in the medkit. What team are you on?

    Boring Freelander 2 stuff

To be honest a motorway commute will be much kinder on your vehicle than all the stop start back and forth you’d do round town, think about the amount of cornering, braking, pot holes and speedbumps. That being said, preventative maintenance goes a long way and I think you’re wise to (quoting...

Yeah. I guess I’m pretty gifted in that I can remember those kinds of things. I would recommend having a look into A-H and SCRIM and just practice them when you’re out and about. Not a replacement for notepad if that works for you but will serve you well. I’d also ask yourself that when you...

    Japanese Knotweed and Lymes Disease

Pigs too. And they will dig up and consume the roots too! That being said I have a friend who mimicked the grazing and just kept on pulling them up, (it was quite a small patch mind) and after about 3 years the plant was exhausted and didn’t come back.

    Cooking Over Fire - Books

Hugh seems like such a nice chap, that’s really cool you met him and he signed it for you. Myself and my uncle had always planned on doing their “pig in a day” course. He first taught me to make bacon and sausage, unfortunately he passed last year before we had chance to do the course. Yes...

Been on the lookout for that one myself. It was his first tv show too and iirc he had a narrow boat, and I’m sure something like a camper van too.

    Capers

I grew nasturtiums once thinking they’d be a lovely addition to salads etc and hopes some capers might form too. All I ended up with was the hugest colony of greenfly the world has ever seen! :yuck:
