Probably a bit of a strange question, but watching Cody Lundin on Dual Survival has got me thinking. Cody manages to go barefoot in just about every climate short of arctic, and even in deep snow he only wears wool socks. At various points in the show he said that he wouldn't advise most people...
I must be getting old. I changed the settings on the videos weeks back and thought i had posted to let everyone know, but the post was just being ignored... :(
Cheers mate. I've always thought there's no point trying to get advanced in anything til you've got a handle on the basics, and right now i haven't. :p
Wow, i really need to keep track of time better! I hadn't realised it had been so long. Anyway, a few new videos of me having a go at it. If i knew a bit more about editing i could edit them all into 1 short video, but as i don't instead they will be in 3 very short videos.

Funnily enough i thought pushing the blade along the stone edge first was one of the few things i'd definitely got right. Everywhere i checked was advising me to do it that way. I do get the angle comment...
I'm in London and can get to Cambridge easily enough, but from there i'm a bit lost. Google has me taking two local busses and swapping in the middle of nowhere, which obviously has big potential for going wrong. Any tips?
I made a thread a few months back about how i was having a hard time of learning to sharpen knives and other blades just by watching videos or reading books. Since then i haven't been able to get to any meets, so instead i've made a video of my attempts at sharpening. It's short (under 4 mins)...
I was going to post a picture but apparently i'm not allowed to. Basically i have a Swedish army trangia i bought a few years back but never got around to using for more than the occasional brew on a day trip. Took it out for my recent trip to Norway and the burner seemed to have reacted with...
You have to understand the British mindset. Years of being told anything sharper than a crayon is going to lead to mass death and destruction has people freaking out and phoning the police at the sight of even small blades like stanley knives (box cutters to you) let alone larger bladed tools...
