    Mushroom mix up

Hi king time no post after some changes in my life. So went to the woods to have a look around and saw some chicken of the woods but it was a bit past it and getting too hard. Some good mushroom spotting and got a good haul of field mushrooms - did a stain test on them in situ and and home and...

Birch burls waiting in the wings.

Hi, I'd love the cup, it's stunning, tried carving one last year and it was a disaster. Didn't feel as mainly a lurker that I should jump in, plus my stand solution probably won't be up to the quality of work on the cup. But if it's still up for grabs I'd love it.

    What did you buy today?

yep its's a hollow stud. to be fair if its proper cold, I've got much better mitts and gloves, these are more just from knocking about it. I'd be pretty easy just to cover it, but I probably won't get round to it.

    recipes for simulating various films

I’m slightly disappointed I was hoping for recipes from die hard, national lampoons vacation and home alone so I could simulate the films at home through food. I was going to give silence of the lambs a miss though.

    Dog walking boots

Hi thought I’d tap up the hive mind, my old walking boots are giving up the ghost and I though I might go for something a bit more practical. I’ll be mainly walking shorter distances (no more than 5 miles) but with muddy fields, woods and by the river. Anyone got any suggestions for welly boots...

    Waterproofing a sweatshirt

I've worn a few riding hoodies for skiing when it's been hotter and no snow forecast. They all have a DWR coating and range from thick hoodie into full soft shell, seem fairly resistant to showers etc. latest one from planks is ... if that helps at all. Not had a cotton or wool blended one they...

    Exercise in covid-19 lockdown

I love training in martial arts/karate. Like a lot of people I started as a kid, got to quite a decent level, then dropped out after uni, when I discovered "other" stuff in life. I missed it for years, and always wanted to start back up, and dabbled occasional, but constantly made up...

    Exercise in covid-19 lockdown

[QU Wish I knew the various kata. We did Ju-Jitsu and they taught techniques not kata style. By that I mean individual throws, locks, blocks, punches, etc. Plus combination moves which you couldn't separate into individual moves like kata I think. Had a few karate lessons on the Saturday...
