For Sale Surplus Boots, Packs, Smocks etc.

Hi Athos, I'm interested in the Wool Submariners Jumper. The picture shows a light stain on the jumper, or Is it just the lighting ??? Also interested in the "The old favourite Windproof smock. Size 190/104" I'm not familiar with the sizing so can you say if it's a Medium or Large please. Thanks

Helikon Tex Swagman poncho - any views/experience?

No I haven't tried or seen the Basic Model only on clips. I bought mine from Hennie Haynes approx 2 years ago. £100 is a lot no question for an Item, I do a lot of Hill / Mountain walking and I have used it as a shelter for my wife and myself to get out the wind and rain to either eat our snacks...

Helikon Tex Swagman poncho - any views/experience?

If your main use is a Jacket then buy a suitable Jacket. You can wear it in a Sleeping Bag as a Jacket, but for me you would benefit more as a Sleeping Bag Liner to cover all your body. For me as I said its fine, it has served me for hunting wearing it for warm, used it as a make shift hide...

Helikon Tex Swagman poncho - any views/experience?

Hi, I have one too. The above comments totally agree. It appears to have a multifunction use but in reality for me only a few uses. * Sleeping Bag ... No * Sleeping Bag liner ... Yes * Hammock underquilt ... Cold No ... Warm Yes * Hunting Stalking ... virtually no sound * Extra layer for warm...

Hi, Welcomed to the site :) I recently acquired a sewing machine which I serviced back to life, and it is like new. So when you decide to sew your Potential Rucksack for your Kit, and you are sewing through THICK materials, from my experience I used used Quality Leather Needles. I'm my no...

    YouTube lock down boredom

So Lockdown interest, I learnt how to use a Sewing Machine. My Mother in Law is not able to sew anymore, she used to make Wedding Dresses and Dresses etc so I acquired it. It cost £180 new, has never been serviced in 40 years of use, weighs an absolute ton. Was going to cost £130 for a full...

    Onetigris iron wall stove tent

Has anybody had experience with such tent with a Tent Stove. I've seen lots of reviews on the utube, but would like to hear 1st hand on actual experience, and not people being given it Freemans. I'd like to know about the quality and long term use, any areas where it might let it self down...

    Not quite 'bushcraft' but camping

Don't be sorry at all, its absolutely fine what anyone wants to do, the main thing is we all like the OUTDOORS and enjoy it in our own way, and respect it and that's all that matters. The Van sounds cool.

    Not quite 'bushcraft' but camping

I totally agree, I take great care that when ever I leave there is a ZERO trace of my presences as I'm sure most of us have the same ethics.

    Not quite 'bushcraft' but camping

For me it goes 3ways Super Comfortable ie vehicle to hand and lots of kit Comfortable shortish distance to amble Adequate "enough to get the job done " Generally prefer Hammock Camping + tarp, but small 1man tent is still good. Option 1 lot's of yummy food, Dutch oven Cook Bread, Slow cooked...

    Dartmoor knife build

That looks like a Nice Piece of work Well Done. I bought the same blank but took off the saw edge, I like your idea of leaving the sheath clean on the back so as not to damage it. A lot of processes were undertaken to make the saw edge, so keeping it does make some sense. I've used it as well...
