Cocktails... whats all the fuss about?

My go to cocktail in the warm weather we’ve been having is as follows… - Fill a glass with ice - Add one double shot (50ml) whisky of your choosing - Add one double shot (50ml) elderflower cordial - Top off with soda water *chefs kiss*

    Battery powered Strimmer

I only use battery tools for our garden, I started with an einhell mower a couple of years ago as our lawn isn’t the biggest. I was that impressed I got the strummer and the leaf blower too, now with a 5.0ah battery I can strim, mow and blow the mess away all on one charge. (Provided the grass...

    Camp Steamer?

That would be a great little gadget. Would you have to change the rubber gasket? I’m not sure that it would be food grade….

New four season tent, advice and thoughts required please

I reckon a tentepee or bell tent would be spot on for you mate. Have a look on www.proadventure.co.uk I also saw on Facebook not long back that land and wave were selling off some of their bell tents very cheaply, might be worth a visit too.

    Firewood pests and solutions…

Well it would seem I’ve found the culprit of my “infestation”. Found a small number of these flying about in the garden and workshop, after some research it seems they favour oak and don’t really cause any damage to wood that has the bark removed. Which means my workshop is somewhat safe (phew!)...

Running DIY WoodStove over night in a small cabin & safety issues

All that work to make a building “air tight” for insulative reasons and then they want to add a vent. When I did mine I remember part of the procedure was to check the flow of exhaust fumes and then open a window. If the draught increased you needed a vent, if not it was fine. I’m sure there...

    2024 Bushcraft Goals

Not exactly bushcraft but I recently learned that a local(ish) lake stocks American brook trout. I aim to spend a day there in July.

    Banned dogs - thoughts

Definitely true for my collie. But he has to learn to trust me as the master as it’s not always safe for him to be off lead.

Where to find custom knife makers?

I know what you mean, I tend to avoid that word myself when I’m posting. Have you tried using alternatives like tool, axe or smith etc?

Where to find custom knife makers?

To search on Instagram it’s best to use hashtags, Facebook is a bit more tricky but maybe try some knife making groups? It’s a shame most of all the really good knifemakers have gone from here, as they had in depth knowledge of the use of the tools which I think is what gave them the edge with...

Woolly Pully vs Fleece vs Ranger Shirt as Mid-Layer?

I am a big fan of a gilet. Often I wear a fleece one on top of a thick flannel shirt for a bit of extra warmth. Have you thought about that as an option?

    Small Tent Purchase

+1 for the Robens boulder 2! We have one as a lightweight, single person option (I know it’s an 2 person but it’s perfect for 1 to sprawl out in) and it’s fantastic. For the price I doubt you could find anything else that’s as good really.
