    I can't stand Deadpool

There was a scene where he was healing and he was sitting on a couch next to an old. blind woman talking to others standing opposite him. He's wearing just a tshirt and does a basic instinct nstyle leg cross to the disgust of the people oppoosite him. I think there are cross references to other...

    Tent recomendation.

Cheap but good then look at Vango or Alpkit. I prefer Vango personally. A solid brand from Govan originally (or at least that was how it got its name). My vango tents owned over the years: - Forec 10 vitesse (two man single skin) Vango something in two man that was a side entry tent but not a...

    Stray cat - advice

A farming couple I used to know had a large number of cats in their farm area. Apparently you could tell which ones were related by when they congregated and their tails were up then they are happy to be around each other because they are related. If some had tails down then they were of other...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

In the UK it is not really much more than the police at the sharp end do not know everything and have to make decisions on so much that they will make the wrong decision. I once saw some research in to traffic police understanding on the law after the relevant training course based on time...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

RE the bit in bold above. If they change the law and your knife gets caught up on it. Well the police have your address and knowledge you have such a knife. I might be paranoid but it does not mean this is not something to watch going forward should there be such an update to the law!!:)

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

How? It is a feature of the SP6 and other buffalo smocks due to the pile lining and the pertex outer not being fixed together except at the cuff. The whole thing just rolls over. I have read online that it happens to a lot of people. It is two different types or materials joined together loosely...

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

For possibly the last two or three winters I have been thinking about getting a warm jacket to wear when walking the dog, taking junior to football matches and standing around watching and a few other uses too. I am not happy with my buffalo S6 shirt any more. I simply cannot get on with the...

What sort of winter do you predict?

Well that settles it. A new winter coat / wardrobe for outdoors! Do I go for a Didrikson parka for the foul weather, standing around coaxing the dog to actually walk coat choice? Or go ultra modern synthetic something or other? OR perhaps a ridgeline hiding in the woods trying to shoot a dear...

    Compost

We got a few compost daleks when we bought the house. We never seem to get enough material in them to get good compost. However the time we had a large bulk carrier in the front garden with mostly green waste (grass cuttings from our only lawn, weeds pulled up from the lawn and borders plus...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

If it is a lose for the landowner, do you think it will have any affect on the potential for similar rights for the 99.3% of England that is not Dartmoor? Not trying to be negative I just wish that there was a more prominent campaign to get better access legislation for the whole of England and...

    Northern Lights NOW

My view is like @Potatohead above but with a darker looking sky and less brightness / obviousness about the two bands. I think my ancient Samsung A70 had night mode, I might take a look tonight just in case. Perhaps a trip up the hill that is my back garden might get better views.

    Northern Lights NOW

I was outside with the dog and it looked like there was a large red band from just off north. Then another alongside it but more towards the east. I thought that it was just lights from Kendal 15 minutes away but I have never seen it before. Could it have been the northern lights? Nowhere near...

    Pine martin release on dartmoor.

One example of mammals controlling their numbers. Am abstract of research by the university of Toronto. This took less than 1 minute to find through bing. it was one of many I could have linked too as well. However I was refering to the control systems the whole ecosystems had. Boom in small...

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

Where you live is a compromise on what you get in some ways. Poor services in the rural north but then again you get beautiful countryside, lower levels of pollution (woodburners excepted in villages), better standard of living, etc. You also get to leave your doors unlocked and everyone knows...

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

Round here it looked like we were close to joining the Broadband for Rural North AKA B4RN which started near Lancaster in a small village called Quernmorr. It was the first fibre to the house at 1000mb/s upload and download to domestic properties of its kind IIRC. Anyway it spreead out from...

    Pine martin release on dartmoor.

Yes, but everything in balance works. If it didn't then earth would have been a mess long before we evolved!! Guess who messed up a lot of the balance? Clue, we're in a geological era based on the animal that's the answer.

    Dealing with Rings

My mum has it still. TBH my partner doesn't want to wear something that she doesn't like and she doesn't like jewellery!! Plus she's not marrying me (thank the big man upstairs). It was really just my Mum's way to get us to not live in sin. Fat chance! Even if we got married we would probably...
