    Its not Hogweed but....

Yes, parsnips can cause quite a bad reaction. This is why you see carrots with their leaves for sale in the market and in shops, but parsnips are always sold with their leaves chopped off.

Hover fly and bee on passion flower

Snapped in the garden this afternoon: a hover fly and a bee. There's also another insect in the first couple of pictures. I didn't notice it while taking them, and I don't know what it is.

    Piri-piri kebab

SWMBO texted me to say she's in town, and did I want her to pick up some meat for making kebabs... I don't know what she'll bring in; probably beef, but could possibly be chicken or duck.

    Swedish M59 Shirt

Biggest size I've been able to find is a 43, so around 17" collar, for SEK149, so a tad over £12.50, plus shipping.

    The cost.

A few years ago, SWMBO gave me a tripod bag for Christmas: it's made from some sort of recycled tarpaulin, either from the side of a lorry or from an advertising board. Well, having a tripod bag I just had to get myself a tripod...

Project complete: Finnish Billhook Jungle Tools

Biothane is used in the horse riding world as an alternative to leather for things like reins and girths. That might help you find some a bit more easily.

    Swedish M59 Shirt

Imperial shirt sizing is really easy. Measure the circumference of your neck in inches, and that's your shirt size. I can wear a 17-1/2, but an 18 is better.

    Swedish M59 Shirt

A continental shirt size 44 is about a 17-1/2" to 18" collar size.

    Talking of bargains

These look enormously like torches that used to keep turning up in adverts every time I opened up certain websites. "This is the MILITARY GRADE flashlight that EVERYBODY is talking about!!!" "Check out the flashlight that BLINDS GRIZZLIES!!!"

    Stoopid jokes

Two sausages and an egg are in a frying pan. The egg says "it's bloody hot in here!" One sausage turns to the other and says "hey, did you hear that? A talking egg!!"

Help!! I need all the help I can get!!!

On the other hand the sulphates release by burning bunker fuel seeds clouds which reflect part of the sun's heat back into space (the clouds increase the albedo effect).

    How to hollow a bamboo?

If you have a bit of steel conduit laying around, it's good enough. After drilling out the bamboo, you'd be able to chop off the last inch of the conduit, with the teeth, and use the rest of the conduit as normal, AND you'd have a handy little hole saw for the future. I have a Nicholson hole...
