I have some willow off-cuts sitting in my shed waiting for me to make a basket from them but I read that I should soak the willow first. I have a some quick questions about this: 1. The willow has been sitting in the shed for over a month and is dried out nicely so do I actually need to soak...

Stove and cookware. Where to begin?

Amazing, thanks for all the info. Lots of things to consider. I have a weekend walk across Dartmoor planned in a few weeks and a 3 day paddle down the Wye in July. The Wye trip is to test the waters (pun intended!!) for a longer canoe trip abroad next year. With that in mind then a liquid or...

    Wilderness Tea

Thanks for the ideas. I was thinking more of leaves and fruits that I could just grab and stick in hot water or boil without having to process. That puts dandelion root and rosehip. I'm not a fan of mint and chamomile but there are plenty of pine around my way so will give that a go.

    It's Hi from me :-)

Hi all I have just finished reading The Raven's Gift and realised I have not had any adventures of late and this needs to be rectified. I used to mountain walk and rock climb alot but petrol got expensive so trips away dropped off! I was a runner until injury stopped that so for the last 4...

Hey, how's the planning going? I'm looking to walk a north - south traverse over the first weekend in June over 2 days with a wild camp in between. I have done a circular 2 day route on Dartmoor before and will post the details when I find them. Hopefully by tomorrow. Not wanting to hijack the...
