    Kuksa cleaning

What Viking and Abbe said. If you have been drinking tea or water only, there is no need to clean it. Otherwise just rinse it in water, but as Abbe said do not put it in the dishwasher. After you have been using it for some time, you might want to put a new finish on the cup again. If so you...

    Your knife for Bushcraft...

I also use an F1 and an F1 (both customised), but these days I tend to grab my "old" Felleskap (blade by Trond on British Blades, handle and sheath by me). I make the sheaths different these days though.

Too bad. Bad swedes :tw:   (sorry Viking :o): ) I think that is the whole point of books being excempt from taxes here in Norway ! Very good :biggthump (but then we have 24 % tax on everything else, except food which is 12 %. Bad norwegians :tw:)

    Is there a tracking bible?

Are you sure about this Abbe ? In Norway (and to a certain extent in Denmark too) buying books and most other printed matter is excempt from taxes for the end user. This applies to importing books too (no import tax and no general sales tax).

    Expedition summer 2006

Asking for sponsorships may be a possible route, but I think that you should concentrate on companies etc in the UK. If you are looking for specific Scandinavian made equipment, then try the UK distributor first and get them to propose something to the manufactor of the goodies. From previous...

    Expedition summer 2006

If you want me to, then I can try to convert the above video to digital and burn it on a cd (can't do dvd) and post it to you Chris (Arctic Hobo), and then you can distribute it to your fellow expedition members together with the 3D map ? Chris PM me your postal address, if you are interested...

    Are hootchies big enough? really?

Bivitents and tents for 2 people is just not worth carrying IMO. I prefer a hootchie and a Fjellduken. I'm getting a new model Fjellduken in january which is even more versatile than any of the other models - review will come in february :o):

    The SURVIVAL HANDBOOK

:o): I've got the three Ray Mears books (paid "big" bucks for the Survival handbook,, but not £240 :yikes:) - two of them signed. I also got Mors Kohanski's Northern Bushcraft, two books by Lars Fält :nana: :o): (and photostats of a third  + I'm going to buy a "new" one from his co...

    Is there a tracking bible?

:yikes: :yikes: When I bought mine in 2001 it was brand new (second impression. First published in 1990), and I got it for about 60 South African Rand as far as I remember, which is about $11,5 :yikes: :yikes: No need to worry  I'll never part with mine :o): . But I will check a...

DIY Arctic parka with fur ruff

You will be very lucky if you find a pair of wooden ones here in Norway ! All the shops that I've been in the past few years have had modern aluminium ones only (if they have any snowshoes at all) .... or the very simple "do truge" in rattan which is completely useless for wilderness travel...

    Canoes..

Ally 16,5' Down River (DR) model ! (have used Klepper's in the army, they are good too). I love Ally (don't tell me wife !!) Was sponsored with the canoe and additional equipment, so I don't know how much. Looking at prices I'd say about 14.000,- Norwegian kroner for canoe, splashcover and all...

    Is there a tracking bible?

There is a book by Paul Rezendes which should be quite good, but I haven't seen it meself. What I have is : The Art of Tracking - The origin of Science. By Louis Liebenberg, South Africa. ISBN 0-86486-293-8. Good book by the guy who developed the CyberTracker. Field Guide to the Tracks &...

    Criossbows

A complete explanation will take too long time / space here, but in general a bow is better in theory. A crossbow is more than powerfull enough to hunt with (with sharp broadheads only, but that applies to a bow too !!), I've seen them shoot completely through game as large as zebra and blue...
