slightly off topic, but how long do the tapes need to be? and what's the best way to attach them to the hammock (group buy)...should I have two seperate tapes on each end or just one? :confused:

I'm not sure you are supposed to but I just tried this with my m65 jacket and it works quite well, it doesn't have any straps to tie it round your waist but does form a neat bundle. Of coarse this was without the lining in it because then it doesn't fit in my bag never mind its hood :lmao: I...

I think its mainly inspiration. There have been some excellent threads about making things and some wonderful craftsmen and women showing off their stuff :You_Rock_ I often feel that I should be creating something after reading these threads so I just find a little project to work on myself...

Well that was the first lunar eclipse that I have ever seen, and I didn't know that it was going to happen. I was outside having a cigarette and thought cool the moons a funny colour :rolleyes: So I got my camera out and got these rather poor images, I totally misjudged how fast the earth...

I have always used a tent but I have just ordered a German army poncho so I'm looking forward to giving that a go with a bivvy bag. I like the idea of dual purpose kit but will probably get a tarp to use with a hammock later on. (when I have a bit more money) Andy

I think I'm the only Bushcrafter in the village, its hard to tell as nobody here has heard of Bushcraft. I have seen people mushroom hunting and berry picking but I still get funny looks when I do these things :confused: Maybe its because I'm foreign :togo: or is that just me being paranoid...

Thanks for the tips guys :) I don't have any saddle soap and I'm not sure I can even buy it here. Would rinsing it in water have a similar effect? It doesn't have a smooth side so I don't think wax would help. Cheers Andy

I have been recently given a large piece of 2mm black leather. The problem is that the dye is coming out and leaving black marks on everything it touches. I'm not sure what type of dye it is but is there any way to fix it? I am thinking of making some small bags out of it as I assume it isn't...
