My all time favorite director being Japans Greatest the legendary Akira Kurosawa, you just cannot go wrong with anything he ever made in my opinion, man was a genius, anything of his i love. Probably my favorite however is Kurosawas 1975 Japanese/Russian co production which I’ve recommended on here several times is Dersu Uzala , like all Kurosawa’s filums i could watch over and over. Dersu is no exception.

I've been meaning to watch that for ages. We used to watch Yojimbo a lot when we were younger. Good film, good soundtrack too.

I'm going to have to look out for Tombstone.

Although it was April last year, I need to check that you've seen Tombstone now? I can't stand westerns on the whole, but Tombstone is a masterpiece.

If you enjoy Kurosawa you will love Dersu , it is one of my very favourite pieces of cinema . Based on a true story i believe, don’t quote me on that though as I may be remembering wrongly.

I bought the 4K version of Kurosawa’s ‘Throne of Blood’ this afternoon. I haven’t seen the film before, but have enjoyed other Kurosawa films very much so I’m looking forward to it.
