You can get tiny adapters for anything to anything. My battery pack has four leads but I bust the iPhone one. No problem, a little C female to lightening (iPhone) swings from my phone lanyard.
Glad one phone problem is coming right if only slowly.
Sadly i live about 20 miles away from anywhere that sells this sort of stuff.
I only buy it if i can see it, before someone suggests i get one online.
Its no big deal, i'll get a plug next times im in town. Im used to waiting for what i need. Plus right now, the pennies took a big bashing. So it will have to wait. I can still charge the phone, so no worries.
Sorry to read about the heat. Please tell me why you can't get air conditioning? You can cool just one room with a portable AC. Is it the cost of electricity that prevents you from getting an AC? I grew up in the American south in the days when AC was not in houses or cars, like today. Now, as I am approaching dodery I cannot live without it. I am that person with medical problems that mandate that I stay in a specific zone of temperature and humidity.
Some rambling advice. Consider that as we sweat we also lose the minerals in the blood. The University of Florida 'gators football team had a scientist develop a fluid replacement that worked better than plain water. What they devised is a drink called Gatorade, it works. You see professional athletes slamming this down. If you can't locate this product or the many copies you should think fluid AND electrolyte replacement. Fruit are best for electrolytes. Eating apples cooled by the refrigerator is excellent to keep you stable. Dried apricot are also excellent sources of electrolytes. Stay away from dairy, meats and hot food that make your body work to digest. Easy to digest food, in small quantities, cool, non dairy drinks.
In the American south we drink iced tea all day. This is often served with large amounts of sugar and lemon. The sugar heats you up to digest. I do not suggest that, but plain black tea with ice and lemon works. Do not drink any alcohol or coffee, they both draw fluids from your blood making you feel worse.
The hot areas of the world have been dealing with this for centuries. Consider how traditional Arab clothing and food work for thatenvironment. Loose fitting cotton clothing to absorb sweat and help cool you as it dries, falafel, humus, tabuule are all excellent at dealing with heat. Go outside and sit under a tree while waiting for a breeze is likely your best choice.
All good advice. Ive got a little spoon that measures salt and sugar in the correct quantities to make your own electrolites, add in a bit of squash or juice and there you go. The rehydration sachets are about a pound each! Very expensive, but always handy to kerp a few boxes of them handy gor such a situation as now as well as for treating the runs.
The trouble is, we english are not used to this sort of heat and the humidity is very high too. Weve had no time to acclimatise. Less than a month ago i was wearing my winter woollen warm jumpers and a coat!
This morning i had a few blissfully cool moments laying on the dew soaked grass under my apple tree, after i put the washing out.
British houses are built to conserve warmth, as we dont often get these sort of temps, and for weeks the shops have been sold out of fans, pet cooling mats and ac units.
Very little breeze too, just muggy stillness, its quite eerie even the birds are cowering in the bushes from the heat.
Only a few more days to go, and we will be back to our normal wetter and cooler summer for a bit. Cant wait.
I too have conditions that make it dangerous to be out in this heat. Not fun.
Wish i could go out and enjoy the sun like i used to.
