Classic Mora, what’s your go to?

I’ve got a couple of old Moras I really like, both stainless, both Frosts, possibly just before Mora? One I bought at 15 in the tackle shop I don’t know the name or number but the handle is still available as a bleeding knife, the other a stainless 760 with blue handle.

What’s your favourite old Mora?

They've been made, and used, for over a hundred years. Simple, sound, doesn't break the bank

So frustrating they don’t do a stainless one! I’m around water a lot, would have one in an instant if they did!

It's my 'back door' knife. It handles wet and muddy just fine, but it does need dried well and oiled afterwards.
I use it in the garden, for craft stuff when I'm working at the back door.
I really, really don't like the sheath.

I just noticed the 'classic' in the thread. I already commented but I will leave it because its fair comment. Ive got a stainless Mora. Its a companion. Not the same granted but I wont have anything else. Mine has a ferro rod in the handle. I dont think its gimmicky. it is well concealed and a resource if needed. I never understood these expensive knives. I agree that the craftsmanship is superb etc but in terms of practicality a Mora is as good as anything I think. DD xxx

I've made plenty of those in stainless with a full tang.

Mora 510 is the one i kept. Handle suits me better than the clipper. Mine is one of the older ones. They stopped making them for a few years, but seems they are in production again.

I have a couple of fancy expensive knives and several Mora Companions dotted around the place. The expensive ones are nice but whenever I just need to do a job it usually tends to be the Mora I use. Cheap enough that I don't mind abusing the hell out of it when required and it just get the job done.

One Frosts Classic with laminated blade, did have a few others and others bearing the maker's name Eriksson and in solid carbon steel but somehow they found their way to the council recycling centre. The only other ' Mora ' I have is a modified rescue Clipper.

The Frosts knife comes with a natty close fitting patterned leather tube type sheath

Mora question why need stupidly expensive knife when its often has better heat treatment and geometry than knife which cost £400+

Moras are perfectly OK and, like most people here, I have one or two ... more if their carving knives count in this conversation. I almost never take them or use them. I have had a sort of sentimental itch for a red-handled one for maybe twenty years, but when they introduced the Classic 1/0 3" blade one, that made for a choice that I simply couldn't resolve They aren't especially affordable here.

They have the Classic King's Knife which is 12c27. But it's a pricey one. Pretty though.

I like the Garberg quite a bit as an all around knife that I can use and abuse. I leave stainless Garberg in my trucks as part of a break down kit. I also like Companion robust. I keep a bunch of Companion around as box openers and cardboard box break down blades. I generally use Moras for work that might result in them being scratched up, damaged or otherwise abused that I would not want to expose a "prettier" knife to. Plus, unlike almost every other knife made in the EU that import tarrifs on these have not really dramatically altered their retail prices inside the US.
