Came across this today. It's a well used Whitehouse Bros 10" billhook. The handle is wormed out and the blade is worn but I think some gentle restoration and I'll be using it in the wood

Are you going to shot blast it or MBX it clean?

All my old tool restorations are minimal material removal; I like the tool history to remain visible. So, it will be wire brushed by hand, then wirewool with a light penetrating oil, and then rubbed with black oil. The cutting edge will be worked by hand; no machine grinding for this one. The handle will be completely replaced (probably birch) but I'll reuse the steel ferrule.
