    Knots - resources to learn?

Grogs animated knots online and their app are good. They have little videos that can be played at any speed and can be flipped if you are left handed. The app is good. https://www.animatedknots.com

    Tracking books

Hi I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch sooner I've been working away and couldn't get online. I would love the books if you can spare them... I was just hoping for a photo! The primitive pottery article also sounds very interesting. I will message you. xxx

    Tracking books

Hi, I've been collecting the Gerry Yewlett Pocket books over the years since my mum bought be the Trees and Timber one when I was about 8 years old. We got it from the Girl Guide shop in Leeds and I still have it 47 years later! But can't find a copy of the Parents Guide to Poisonous Plants...

    Ray Iles hook knives

Ok I have TWO!! They are left handed though. They were bought for me as a gift but I can't use them as the handles are too fat for me to hold - they are designed by a bloke with big hands for a bloke with big hands. So if anyone wants to buy them...... :-) I'm too lazy to rehandle them as I've...

    Gränsfors Kubben Hatchet

Ellen, I have a Gransfors mini axe, the smallest one, which I bought second hand one day when I had a bit of extra cash burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted one just 'cos they are cute really, just a whim and when I got it / tried it I decided it was too light to carve with. However on one of...

    Spoon/Crook Knife Advice

Ben and Lois Orford are really helpful - excellent customer service and really nice spoon knives (I've bought quite a few for my work) It's nice to be able to deal with the people who actually make the product.

    Scout leaders ?

Go for it - Scouting (and Guiding) need people with skills to be leaders who are good role models (not just parents who are doing it to keep units open). Boys need male role models. I'm a mum of two boys one in Beavers and one in Sea Scouts - my boys much prefer the male leaders. I'm also a...

    carving in public

Fair comment! Here in South Devon it is a very safe place to live and knife crime isn't a big issue and everyone knows everyone. I wouldn't sit around carving in Bradford city centre (my home town) for example - even I'm not that daft.

    carving in public

I often carve in public. My husband and son surf so sitting at the beach can be a very very loooong and boring exercise. I often axe out spoons sitting by my van and then finish them off sitting on the beach. No one has ever complained or challenged me. Often people are interested (and I might...

Sorry I didn't see your message in time. It was my son who logged on whilst I was away using my name (he's only 11) so he didn't know to look for your message. Hope you sold the rucksack, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Go Outdoors

An update to my 'tale of woe' with Go Outdoors!! We used 6 of the tents straight after we got them and were pleased - they were what we wanted. Then, this weekend we used the last 4. When we opened one tent it was obviously used - the outer was dirty and there was a big tear in it. The alloy...
