    Had a walk along the river today and the winter floods have certainly changed things a bit, many old trees which had fallen and formed bridges which the badgers and others used have gone, there is a dam which never used to be there and I have found a wooden footbridge and also a golf ball...

    Burl Removal (living tree)

    If you like the burl then visit it from time to time but leave it on the tree. There is no way you can seal a cut of this magnitude to prevent infection, at the very best you could use a fungicide which would mainly favour the company that made it.
