Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
A £2 space blanket is good to loosely wrap around you should you wake up in the night. Works great over my summer bag if it's a clear night. Get a nice big one and it can be tucked in under the feet end to stop it slipping.
If it's just to keep the tent warm, then maybe some kind of hanging device would do the job. It could even have it's own tray fixed underneath - pie dish for instance. Just thinking aloud here.
Personally I'd make most of my own gear. The advantage being it's easily repaired or replaced along the road using readily available materials. Doing this would also be a good investment in the knowledge stakes. There are many plans available for rucksacks, etc - for free.
Sleeping bag, quilts...

The stuff you mentioned doesn't sound that heavy. A lighter bag is a good start though (maybe a waterproof Gourdon 30litre would be good for chucking around the woods - and I've seen an old GoLite Jam going for £30 recently) but I'm guessing it's the smaller stuff that's adding up...
Many thanks for the quick replies. As you might have guessed, I have been making them and wanted to make sure. I'm about halfway through the third one and will add some vents. Funny - they still worked without them, though they did need a fire-lighter to get them going - which is why I asked...
By what I can gather, it seems 'Bush Buddy' stoves don't have vents at the bottom of the inner can - only a grid around halfway down and vents around the top of the inner can. Can anyone who owns the genuine article confirm this? Thanks.
Checking that out today, along with Preloved, etc. Thanks.
For the record - I just sold a new Kelly Kettle on ebay for a very good price. But, as Matt.S has already said, ebay has to take a bite.
Thanks. I didn't consider the 'dodgy' angle, but the rest of what you've both said is pretty much what I was expecting. I suppose I should add up what I have got (it's a major clear-out, not all sharp and shooty) and try and estimate a total.
I'll be back.
