    No Resupply

Just read a book called Survivor about a man who was struck by lightening and was sent back to the stone age ,he only had the cloths he stood in. Got me to thinking if I was in the same situation but had the chance to take kit with me what would I take as there would be no Resupply ...

    Where cani learn about knives.

Multi you asked who the person was that only had 13 posts well that is me.I have been practising Bushcraft for nearly 60 years,my posts are few because unlike you I do not like wasting peoles time. You are doing the same on this thread as your other one getting people totally ****** off with...

how do I know if the knife. is good.

Don't bother taking any camping equipment with you such as a tent and so forth because you will be spending your time in a prison cell. You are either very young or a total idiot to think you can walk round looking like a knife shop on legs and not get stopped by the police. Please carry on...

    Survival v Bushcraft?

If you are between a rock and a hard place you will be more concerrned about shelter and warmth not whitling spoons,so I would go for a larger knife, leku or A1

    Sharpening Guide

To keep to a true Skandi grind is a real pain and if you do not do it properly you endup with a beveld edge. One way that can help is to cover the grind with a felt marker pen then make a light pass over the stone and you will see where are making contact with stone and where you are not.

    Books to give new bushcrafters

    Bear Grylls doing a "Ray"??

The steel used is RWL 34.I own two Bayley knives and they are both well made but I do get the feeling he knows more about making them than he does about using them.

Rob Bayley's knives - any good?

I have two of his knives the Raven and Wolf, build quality is excelent so is RWL34 steel the price is reasonable for what you get. The Raven is not a out and out Bushcraft knife as the grind is bit to thick for cutting wood compared with a skandi grind ,it is more a general...

    Gransfors French Trader Tomahawk???

I have one of the Tomahawks you are asking about, first off they a lot lighter than sfa and the edge is more curved so it comes into contact with the wood in a way that takes a bit of getting use to. the fact there is a bit of a beard on the head means it can be used as a plane.If...

Book Review: Call of the Wild - Guy Grieve

I thought the days of books about building log cabins in the wilderness were over so it was a real joy to find Call of the Wild, now Cache Lake Country can be put to oneside for awhile.
