Thing is, I've only had the bag a few weeks, so it shouldn't be worn yet. I'm going to try sanding the plastic to roughen it up a bit, might create a bit more friction. Cheers for the advice.

For that price, I'd recommend the Snugpack Kestrel. Rated down to minus 5, relatively light and compact. I've been using one for the last couple of months and had no problems with it.
