    Preppers Shop UK

Does anyone know if this shop is still operating? Ordered a camping grill over 11 days ago - quick enough to take the money, no answer on email or phone. Will look to open a dispute with the bank - only a 60 quid order, but principle etc.

The Crime and Policing Bill 2025

Dont actually need a warrant in the UK - this seems like some kind of urban myth propogated from US TV shows ... had this from a family lawyer friend. There are of course grounds that require an officer of the law to enter a house, and this includes suspicion of ANY violent crime, suspicion of...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Coming from a farming family, I see this both way. The amount of damage, cost, and ultimatly liability that many landowners face due to incidents caused by members of the public (some with good intention, others with not), puts huge strain on already struggling farms. This being said, access...

    Do you smoke a pipe?

Hi Chris, i found i was either over tamping or under tamping the tobacco. i have tried every method known to man, 3-pinch method, letting it sit a while, rotating the pipe under my thumb to get the tobacco to connect. I must be honest, i didnt find much of it to be helpful. However, i seem to...

    Do you smoke a pipe?

You wont regret it Chris. Currently on a jack up vessel in japan with a tin of the stuff, and the locals are hovering around me like flies on the proverbial. They never see a bearded english pipe smoker, and have never smelt something so good!!

This is brilliant, was considering doing something similar with some rod ive got in the shed. Did you lathe the copper bar to slide over the rod?

    Do you smoke a pipe?

Loved this thread - so resurrecting. After a several year hiatus from messing around in woods (kids eh!), i recently returned with a vengeance. In the meantime i have been shooting on our farm with a few of the old boys, most of which are avid pipe smokers. So, as recently as the last few months...

    Favourite pigeon recipes?

ha yes - exactly this!! interestingly we have a load of jackdaws nesting in one of our barns, and despite the road being about 100m away, we find a lot of retrieved road kill being dragged inside. Another reason to keep their numbers in check.

    Deer deterrence

i hear herb robert isnt really liked by them - we have quite a lot in certain parts of the farm, and perhaps coincidentally, all of these places (along with a few others) we avoid stalking the deer as we typically come up empty handed. There may be something in it, or an old local wives tale -...

    RATS!

yes bamboo would work as long as it can rotate freely. As others have suggested, dont fill with water, but you can catch quite a few at any one time. Bear in mind youll still have to deal with the live rats as you deem necessary.
