    Fire wood Prices?

Not sure what the going rate is for this way now as I'm stuck with the nasty central heating, but when I used to work for a large conservation charity the foresters would charge people 70 quid a trailer load of unseasoned large logs (which needed split). Staff would get them free.... I often...

    Hadrians wall

I haven't done it myself (even though I pass parts of the walk on a weekly basis!) but WILL walk it probably next April before it gets too busy. It's become a lot more popular since the creation of the proper trail and Robson Green's series of Northumberland telling Britain about how great the...

    What Head Torch???

I just got a Petzl xp headtorch.....been looking for a while as I've only ever used cheap ones but really need a better light when out at night with my black lab whose eyesight is failing! I got the orange colour which is the same as the others, but was £26 instead of £38! Will probably be...

Hi Hils, I would definitely recommend Helpx - website is Helpx.net, a similar thing is called workaway, where hosts take people in and they help out on work required for (generally) 4 and 6 hours a day. The majority of the hosts need help with running small farms, garden work, building...

    Hello from Northumberland!

Hey, Just joined so thought I'd introduce myself....brilliant forum by the way! Reet, I've been into the bushcraft thing since I was maybe 10, when I got and read probably 20 times (the original!) bushcraft book by a bloke called Raymond Mears (before he changed his name to Ray, found TV...
