Best all round producer are Lowa followed closely by Meindl imho. I've had Lowa combats and deserts whilst serving and now have the Lowa tibets which are even nicer although am still waiting to see how they stand up to long term abuse.

Does anyone know whether Stewart Wilson (of apparent parang fame) is still in the knife making game? if so how to contact him or does he have a website? Couldn't find anything through google except pictures from various forums... Thank you again for your time and expertise.

Just found this thread after wondering what to do with a similar trade that had gone awry with Cowboy for a custom axe mask for my GB Scandinavian Forest Axe that I traded for a few good bits of military kit. So if it makes you feel better your not alone at least ;)!
