    Kent Meet

I assume this is still on. Should hopefully be dry overnight if the BBC weather is to be believed. Are there any special joining/locating instructions other than those at the start of the thread? Also how much is this including the overnight? Cheers.

    Kent Meet

The 26th to 27th works nicely for me, coincides with my week off and I was planning a night out anyway :D. Also as I'm off work anyway so they can't scupper my plans, again, by sending me travelling.

    Kent Meet

silk purse out of a sows ear

Strictly speaking the phrase is wrong, as it has been proven that you can make a silk purse from a sow's ear, as shown HERE. :D Admittedly not a very practicle process but still possible and also makes a good point of don't just take someone else's word for it.

Sorry Chaps, been on holiday and haven't had net access. How is the organisation proceeding and is there anything I can do?

    Any meetups in Kent...

I only took a few naff snaps on my phone. I was particularly dissapointed that the sunlight managed to obliterate all trace of smoke in the fire by friction photos.

    Any meetups in Kent...

Thanks to everyone that made it (and see you next time to those that didn't). I had a really enjoyable time, being particularly impressed with the fire by friction demo. Unless anyone else has a buring desire to organise the next one I'll get in contact with the Pinetum and start thinking...

    Something different !!

What about one of these. The original Ukranian versions were 2 wheel drive, I'm not sure if the UK one is though.

    Any meetups in Kent...

Laurence: I'll be happy with a few bits of birch :D Wattler: Currently the plan is King's Wood on Sunday 29/01/06 @ 09:30. Currently there is likely to be up to around 14ish people going, so parking is a major consideration. Also as we are going for just a day walk I think King's Wood will...

    water

None of the locations I tend to visit regularly have any surface water supply, therefore I tend to carry my 3ltr camelbak. With the camelbak I don't tend to notice the weight as it spread across my back. If I'm overnighting I also tend to take an additional 1ltr canteen for damping down the...
