    The "PhotoShop" Issue.

I use everything from digital rangefinders through to 10x8 film cameras. I am tinkering with wet plate next. One of the best pictures I have taken was with a £10 waterproof disposable camera! won prizes with it also! I hate contests now. I take photographs for me. if someone else likes them...

    Candle's in tent's

I just wonder how many people have died from Co poisoning from a candle in a tent? also how safe are you with a flame? Some people do not feel comfortable with any flame. Others are happy to use them and treat them with respect. Candles have been used for many years in tents. But if you are not...

    Goodbye Windows XP

I run loads of old OS's and the stopping of support for XP does not even raise a thought with me. Yes it MAY be more vulnerable in the future, but fixing security holes and patches, does not absolve the user from using common sense and having good AV and malware/firewall setups. I am sure a lot...

    Phone charging bushcraft style

Horses for courses really. We go caravaning on sites with no facilities and I need a CPAP machine. That requires a lot of power 120WH per night That is the min I need to provide. so it depends upon you needs and what you are doing. The majority of us in the UK are only out for a week or two...

    Cpap

We i bought the li-ion battery pack. Not cheap £300 but i have tried it and even with the humidifier, i got three nights out of it. I suspect without the humidifier, i would get four to five nights. So for me well worth the money. I haven't bought the 'mini'cpap yet as it is just short of.seven...

    Phone charging bushcraft style

Thats the route I have gone after becoming totally disillusioned with solar products. At the moment, there is just not enough power output from a lot of these things. The solar/wind up radio I have for example only lasts an hour/ two max. But the £6 radio I have that covers shortwave as well and...

Being sensible ? Carbon monoxide and Methanol

i used to work in the analytical industry and used many solvents to wash my hands (including benzine, trich, methanol, etc. Times change and things become more safety conscious. According to a friend in the HSA, there are a lot more deaths from petrol every year then they have recorded ever for...

Being sensible ? Carbon monoxide and Methanol

Why is it that every time this comes up, you have the 'totally toxic and only idiots use it' or the 'i wash my teeth with it'? IT'S A FUEL all fuels are dangerous in some way or other.would you wash you hands/drink petrol/paraffin? conciddering the number of people using methanol through out...

    Toilet Roll !!!!!!!!

With the amount of codine, zydol(tramadol), morphine I have had to take this past year, it's a miracle I go at all! lol Very 'OCD' about 'cleaning up' and that can cause problems! It stops how much and how often I go out camping etc. Is it our diet or how we have evolved? As has been said...

    Hungry Sailors stove I think

They are a commercial 'rocket stove'. http://youtu.be/P6ValmUnjz4 good but expensive and bulky (as stoves go) Also the 'clay' used for insulation tends to go brittle and so cracks. There are 'newer designs' on the market, but these have a good reputation and do work. For me though (as a...

    Battery bank

I am having a bit of a problem with the stated capacity. 30,000mAh is 30Ah!! Even for a lithium ion/polymer battery that's big! I think that they are worth themoney for sure, but is the claim really correct? My CPAP battery is three times the size of that thing (ok it's 12v) but it is 20Ah. Alan
