    Fox, badger or something else?

I'd say dog kill, but one that's had the time to eat rather than a pet who'd get hauled off home. Many strays about?

    Bushcraft friendly campsite

Kepis, we had a stand there would have been good to meet. petro, thanks, not sure what you mean about the keppis project but the Knepp Safari project is run by my wife and myself while the estate and re wilding project as a whole is run by the owner

    Bushcraft friendly campsite

Thanks for the support, sadly we have to charge to allow the place to exist. Pretty much the same as any other service really - you get what you pay for!

    Bushcraft friendly campsite

Some of you may remember at the end of last year I posted about guided bushcraft walk in the rewilded lands of Knepp Castle, as it turned out there wasn't the market for it at a price that made sense financially which was a shame. I thought you might be interested to know that we are now up and...

    catching/eating rabbit

It's better to leave them alone in the Summer as they are breeding, not ideal to kill milky does with kits to ground. Winter is time for rabbiting but if you have to hunt in the Summer go for the 3/4 grown youngsters. They are better eating anyway.

Show us your bow drill sets!

This thread has inspired me to have a go with a fire bow. Made a set this evening and success! A good ember but tinder, honeysuckle bark, was a bit too damp and went out after the first flame. Still pleased though as I haven't lit a fire that way since I was a teenager and then only twice! Phone...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Thanks for the continued feedback, I will see if I can put some packages together with prices.

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

That's fair comment but it very much hinges on what the group itself would like to do. This is the question I have been trying to get an answer to ... what would you like to do???? I have access to this incredible place which, to me anyway, seems ideal for bushcraft. The owner is open to ideas...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Ok, apologies for the delay. I moved into an estate cottage over the weekend which has no internet for the moment and now I am in Dorset on a research trip. (Its lovely by the way, not bushcrafty at all but very plush glamping. I have never seen a set up with so many facilities, lights turn on...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Maybe I have misjudged the market for this, at those prices it simply isn't possible. There is nothing to be gained by us trying to complete on price with a simple grass pitch campsite when what we have to offer is unique, certainly in the South of England. There are plenty of campsites...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Some excellent feedback, thank you for all your input and messages. I don't think there should be any problem providing the main features you have all put forward, fire, fuel, greenwood etc. Availability could be flexible but I am pretty sure supervision will be a requirement and I am certain...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

In this context I am interested in bushcrafters, the camping and glamping site will be a separate entity with additional facilities and a different market. So the general consensus is woodland to overnight in and to provide crafting materials with a wander through the other habitats? I...

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Ok, how about this? A free overnighter and tour of the estate in exchange for a write up on here and your ideas on how best to progress the project?

Potential New Bushcraft / Wild Camping destination, feed back please

Thank you for the replies. The estate is Knepp Castle in west Sussex, I hope its ok to put a link up www.knepp.co.uk if not mods please remove. It gives a much fuller picture of the project to date. The idea is part of a bigger enterprise including a camping and glamping site so facilities are...
