Probably better of 'etching' the blade unless you engrave it before hardening. The principle is exactly the same as etching a PCB, using the same chemicals or using salt water and a DC then AC low voltage supply. Basicly mask every thing that you want to remain un-etched, drop in etchant...

I would suggest that having a go in your kitchen a few times before trying it as 'bushcraft', with bread it's better to find out how much and hard to kneed it in the warm and dry before trying it in the wild. Fresh homebaked bread is an eye opener, it looks, smells & tastes so much better than...

I dont have that blade, which is why I asked about the tang length, but I do have a puukko (carbon 95) & leuku (210), & the tang looks very similar to the puukko except that the hook knife has a square shoulder & have just assembled another puukko which is where I've done as I described.

Ebay banned knifes in the UK about 2 years ago, the company may deal outside ebay, but ebay block us bidding/buying as I found out last month with a unsharpened damascus blank :( I think there's some exceptions as collectables but that's it. And the seller I wanted to buy from also quotes...
