They did make some huge assumptions, but I found I didn't mind. Surely the makers had to assume things to make a programme like this and I felt it was worth putting up with those to be invited to think about the interaction between sapiens and erectus.

I thought it did well in offering up some of the possible ways in which they thought, interacted and dealt with problems.

In fact I thought the portrayal or erectus was possibly more plausible than sapiens.

There is evidence of cannibalism amongst sapiens too. We shouldn't judge them or erectus on this as we know nothing of the circumstances or context.

Just watched it on iplayer - I thought it very interesting!
I am looking forward to future episodes - although I do not like the jerky cuts between acting and talking head sections...

I'll take bets on who will be the first member to want to make an Ostrich egg water carrier. I've got an empty shell from Rhodesia.

Did one ages ago :D - it has since been dismantled - though the egg is still on the dresser as an ornament/souvenier of a failed ostrich farm near us here...

I thought it was really good.

Didnt mention how tall they were, though. Thats a big difference.

Quite right about the language, didnt have fancy brains...Nor were the parts of the brain used for lung control very developed. (think about it)
