Sorry if this isnt appropriate for the forum, but anyone in North Yorks - near Ripon just feel a massive shuddering.....? Absolutely sh*t myself - the whole house was shaking for about 5 seconds.....

Yes thanks.......there was a couple of seconds of rumbling then the shaking - looked outside and most of the neighbours looking out of their windows too. Have checked the internet but nothing reported - the USGS site that shows worldwide earthquake activity is only showing information to 21:00, so a little too early yet.

Dont recall anything in September - just pleased that everything is OK....very strange experience, what some people have to endure on a regular basis in some countries (and perhaps with less well constructed buildings)
trying to find the article again now.. It said there are something like 200 earthquakes in the UK every year - mostly too small to be noticed...

I didn't feel it, but was in ASDA car park getting some cash and heard this hideous scraping rumble. I looked round but the place was deserted, thought i was going mad. This explains it
