Oh boy - this is one meet you HAVE to come to!
Bernie Garland is sending me a knife to review - and then to raffle/auction for Help for Heroes!
Be there or be square!
Spread the word so we can get the max number buying tickets and raising a goodly amount for the charity!

I will be VERY interested to have a butchers at this. I had a look at Spam's Pair at the Moot and saw Variant 13's last Feb at Geoff's (remember that one John?). Yep, very interested, best i save my pennies eh! :D Just don't do it after i've had some winter warmer!

well , this sounds like a cracking weekend comin up ,
essential gear ; fork ( hopefully wont need to bring a knife as john is bringin one for me!....)
sleeping bag , and tarp . With goose and venison on the go we'll all be rollin back down the hill to the carpark with BMI figures in triple figures , also if its really wet and cold we can cover ourselves in the goose greese to fend off the natures worst .
I was gonna bring a few rabbit but is it worth it now ?Also on a different note , the army surplus store we raved about on the a40 seems to of closed down , shame !
Any way ive packed , unpacked and repacked already cant wait, see you all v soon.
cheers Rolly

Rolly, if the smell of damp webbing and hessian is what you yern for, there is a Government Surplus shop about half an hour away from the camp site, it's 5 mins away from the M4 so you could bob in and sniff away! It'll be good to see you again bud, sit around the fire and tell us stories about your recent travels.;)

Hmm - I hate to think of regulars missing out - would folk be in favour of telephone bids/ book bids if we go with an auction or sales of raffle tickets to those not at the meet - but only from those who would normally make it to the meet?

I'm happy for you to do what you think best and fair john, but I'm not sure about an auction. As for myself I'm in the process of getting another one .I'll buy tickets but will put the knife back in if I win.

Agreed there John, i'm sure the knife is great, but i think, to benefit the H4H as many bid's as possible would be nice. I'll be bidding and will toss my toys if i don't win! :D ;)

OK then folks
I think that the best way to go with the knife is an auction......with "book bids" (PM-ed to me) being accepted in advance from any regular who cannot get to the meet this time.
I could accept bids up to 6pm on the thurs 6th of nov evening, that is one day before the meet but phone bids ( being reception dependant and my only having one phone!) might be out.
Does this sound OK to folks?

:) OK then!:)

If you are a regular South Wales meet attender and cannot make it to this meet I will accept "Book Bids" as stated.
Simply PM me your bid and I will add it to the bids on the day!

Gents , I'll be bringing my son with me this weekend He's 11 years old and has autism, this makes him very shy with strangers at first but a real pain once he gets to know you .
If he starts to annoy anyone please tell me and I'll sort him out.He has virtually no grasp of social graces and often interupts with comments that have nothing to do with what is being discussed.
If any one has an objection to him comingplease let me know beforehand .
