Do you know where I can buy those sealable (or clamp lid) blue food-grade barrels/drums from. The ones with the handles. The ones that expeditions use to store food etc.? I think they are 5 or 6 gallon (30 odd litre)

Thanks

Big things - they don't exactly go in a post box I guess - I have a mate up that way who got me a load at one time - they were under a tenner a go at the time (buyer collects) which was way cheaper than elsewhere.

They will ship pallets full a lot cheaper!

Well if you know of anyone who is going that way and then comes by Devon then give us a shout!! :D

Shame that you are not a bit nearer as I can get them for free.......depends if you like the smell of mango chutney?!?!
Seriously though chinese and Indians chuck them out by me.....only thing is they need some sort of gasket as they let in water.....got two here on a magpie sweep that I thought might come in when I get round to a canoe trip.

Bogie Knights had some at their Mutton Cove yard about a month ago and also some shorter dumpy ones. Always worth a rummage if you're in Plymouth with time to spare.

I got mine from the Indian, I gave them a good soak in a solution of bicarb, and they no longer smell

A mate of mine got some (around 10 years ago) from an advert in the back of a canoeists magazine - they sold them in 10's. A group of us all wanted a couple so he got 1 'lot' & it worked out at about £10 each.

Might be worth a flick through the ads in the back of the mags next time you're passing a newsagents (if you've got any friends who're also after some).

Sorry if that's not much use, but that's where I'd start off looking - after tapping up the local takeaways (based on the previous posts).

Slip of the tongue S1

I meant "gangling drunken reprobate"

Your missus makes up for it though ;)

Yes she does, especially now she has been on the telly, had to have the door widened to get her head in tonight...

She was on Central news... http://www.itvlocal.com/central/news/

But you won't be able to see her as you're on dial up.

Now where are her combats and corset...:D
