Out with the dog

Been meaning to take the dog for a while but wasn’t sure if it would aid in the relaxing part. I prefer a bivi but took the tent because at least I could lock her in to a degree. Being a working dog I couldn’t let her have free reign or the night would have got lively
But she behaved really good and the company was nice. I guess if I did bivi I could tether her we will have to see

looks like a cracking night would have been had - and a very bonny dog too. i often do this with my dog (also a working dog), and i find its actually helped her remain steadier in the field as she has gotten older. great to see them on high alert even if shes not retreiving/flushing, but just taking the time to investigate her surroundings. often alerts me to deer before ive spotted them through the binos/scope!

Cheers Paul I mostly bivi camp but that would mean tethering her. I haven’t quite decided how best to do that yet. The benefit of a tent is she’s in with me. Thinking maybe cork screw tether

yeah thats a good shout on the tent ... i had similar worries with mine. soon found after a few tarp camps with the tether that she just wanted to be where i was. this being said, im a heavy sleeper so she may be up to god-knows-what during the night ...
