It would be nice to find an independent news channel which just presents facts and then lets people come to their own conclusions without any added spin or opinions. Unfortunately all of the newspapers and TV news channels seem to be heavily biased one way or another.I'd love to find an independant source but make do with reading from a range of sites from both sides of the political spectrum.
To get a balanced view of general news and politics I look at both the Telegraph and the Guardian to see what each side are saying. To get a balanced view of events in Ukraine I read both News Pravda (Ukrainian news) and Russia Today to see what each side are telling their own populations.
Zero Hedge is an interesting but odd-ball news source which contains important and interesting news stories which get deliberately ignored by mainstream media outlets. ZH needs to be read with a pinch of salt though because it's excessively right-wing biased and a bit tinfoil hat at times so keep that in mind when reading it.
For military and war news I've found that the Canadian Prepper / Prepper News channel (mostly in the morning) and New York Prepper (sometimes in the evenings) on Youtube are the most upto date and comprehensive sources of information. They regularly find important military news days, or sometimes even months, before it enters the mainstream media. They also go into much more detail than the mainstream media too. However being prepper channels they also have their own style of bias and come with an over-alarming presentation which is a bit repetitive and tiresome. However that's worth putting up with in my opinion as they are still the best source of military and war news that I have found.
As I say these sources are all biased in different ways but between them they seem to cover most of the bases adequately. With financial news I look at various charts and graphs first to allow me to form my own opinions before reading the financially related news afterwards.
