Most of the Keela stuff is now produced abroad, except the lovely wax jackets. I recently bought one , not at Keela’s own website price, and it’s a genuinely well made UK product.
That is a shame that they've moved much of their production abroad. Did they announce this or have you found it out by looking at their product descriptions?

I asked about discounts for a ventile and they offered 20% but wouldn’t let me apply it to the UK made stuff, the waxed jacket being that.

I see. The poncho is still listed as UK made, but, they very clearly state that no discounts as available on it! I bought one a while back; it's fine, but the hood is not adjustable and it gets annoying fast.

Things can change.

I don't remember Swanndri being very widespread in the UK until a certain Uncle Mears started wearing it and then overnight - abracadabra - a clone army of 10'000 little bushcraft goblins all wearing a copy-n-paste image of Ray.

Same with the Hat fetish that apparently had been quietly simmering under the social custard skin.

Fjallraven trousers also were an unknown until the disease of idolization became endemic.

Rohan were BIG back in the day , but not so much now - again practical clothing that has fallen off the radar but still good.

I would imagine Mr Fogle knows enough people in the showbiz world to secure some well placed ' gifts ' that will appear on various shows of charismatic social influencers.

Give it time.
Still like and use Rohan, just some of the colours are a bit bright or wrong for me prefering greens black blue etc

Yes. I liked the idea of Rohans - but frankly the colour scheme was little too " extrovert " for my nature. If they offered a Two tone drab colour range to match my drab personality I would have been all over it like seagulls on a packet of chips.

Prefer to blend in as opposed to sticking out like I'm off to some alternative music scene..

Am I looking at a different Rohan than you guys? Everything I have looked at comes in a variety of colours - some a brighter than I would choose but many blacks, greys, browns, and greens.

I used to use Rohan quite a lot but their styling changed for me - more high street than high mountain in my opinion. I still like some of the stuff they do though.

I emailed Buffalo and they were super unhelpful! I wanted to find a supplier where I could try them on for size!

This Ben Fogle guy is a twit tbh but it will probably help the brand! Hopefully their customer service will improve!

Ventile is Swiss I think?
It is a Swiss company that makes the fabric in Turkey and they market it as both their own brand and Ventile (a brand they bought, and which their fabric complies to spec-wise).
It is very expensive, the materials to make your own smock are ca. £150-160 (I am XL) for a two-layer one with quality zips etc.
So, in Ventile, don't expect 'cheap'.
For a poncho, i would go for waxed cotton instead, much more waterproof, breathability is pointless as the poncho is very airy anyway, and about 1/4 of the materials price.
