Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the Bushmen Hideout Thermo Bivy Bag. Looks a versatile bit of kit. I have one of their tarps (3x2.5 ultralight) and its a quality bit of kit.

Can I add to this thread, please? I’m trying to find out more about the Bushmen Thermo Tarp (NOT bivvy bag). Since cresting 50 years young a while back I have felt the cold more, especially when in a bivvy. Recent Scout events here in NE Scotland have underlined my enthusiasm for a warm down bag and bivvy bag in addition to a tarp. I came across an advert for Bushmen Thermo Tarps around December but can’t find anyone who has used one.
So, to the hive mind:
1/ are they noticeably warmer than an equivalent size DD tarp?
2/ are they as hard wearing as DD tarps?
3/ in your opinion, are they worth buying?
4/ in hot weather do they work well to reflect the heat? I’m planning a return to Canada and am thinking about bivvying on west coast beaches while completing trails.
I don’t have any links to either DD or Bushmen companies.

I'm now also looking at the Sarma TST Thermal cloak. A lot more expensive but lots a serious bit of kit. Youtube has some reviews.

I’ve got the 60g/m2 Sarma cloak, I’m very impressed. I used it as a bivvy with a Snugpak Elite 2 sleeping bag in -5°C, I also had thermal long johns and a fleece top on, I was proper toasty all night. No condensation that I could detect. I don’t think the zips are waterproof, where they meet certainly isn’t, but I think that helps mitigate any condensation.
