Made a Knobkerry.

Found a nice piece of Hawthorn on my permission a couple of months ago, not the best but I'll work with what I've got.
First I peeled it, then set it aside until last week. Much filing and sanding later, I ended up with a very comfortable cane, that swings nicely too. The dogleg at the bottom gives some character.

For now I've used a fast dry medium oak varnish, it's what I had. I think I'll go down the Linseed oil route eventually.
