It's their ski clothing sale so I'll be there. Kitting up for my first ski trip. Their merino is usually good. I find their sizing can be a bit small for me but they used to make bigger sized xl stuff before.

I have last year's with plenty of holes in it waiting for the next sale. It's merino, if you use it it'll wear and you'll get holes. One of the drawbacks with merino IMHO. Actually it could have been this Spring's cycle sale stock. Still it's cheap enough to use for a year then replace for less than a big brand merino top.

Got a zip neck top and long johns today, £19.99 and £17.99 respectively. Got them home to try on - perfect! I’m 5-11 and 16st, and the large long johns and XL top fit perfectly. The top is a particularly thick grade of material but both are comfy and seem well made. Doubly so for the price.

I will soon wear them in anger I.e outdoors in the cold and report back. Many thanks to Hodge for the heads-up.

Wore the crew neck merino today out walking. Nice top. Now wearing the zip neck merino over the top round the house over the other top. Not what they're meant for but I'm cold with a cold. Very comfortable and not wool itchy like past merino. IME past Aldi merino needed a few washes to lose the itchiness.

Got ski socks but they're think so probably a mistake. The ski trousers are going back. I have to get xl in clothing from Aldi or they aren't long enough but those trousers are simply too wide at the waist but the legs are way too wide IMHO.

Don't own a balaclava so bought one, cheap enough. That leaves the merino long johns. Not tried them on but they're usually stretchy so should fit.

No helmets and the goggles looked a bit rubbish IMHO. The synthetic base layers looked a bit shiny and I am not convinced they'll wick that well.

Ski jackets, well xl fit length was great but they could fit another me in it, well almost. Liked the long, stretchy inner gaiter cut on the sleeves. Hood was very floppy so not very good. Plus in xl the only colour choice had ugly yellow zips.

Usual mixed bag of kit from Aldi. Pick the good stuff like merino then wait for the iffy stuff to get reduced if you've got doubts. You might get lucky.

One thing, the kids sizes seemed to be a bit undersized. Our son is tall but not a whole size up level of tall, that's 2 years older than he really is. That's our opinion but make sure yourself if you're buying fit kids.

Merino good, rest not so good.
