First post to introduce myself to fellow bushcrafters in S/W England. I have recently moved to yeovil and I am looking for new woodlands to continue my passion for bushcraft and wild camping. Also would like to meet lime minded people for possible bushcraft meet ups. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Welcome to the forum Aaron,
I am sure there are plenty of folk down your way to mingle with.

There use to be a group in that area that had meet ups in Sparkford woods but it fizzled out. My wife and I use to go along periodically when we lived in that area. I notice now most of the people that were part of that group don't come onto the forum either anymore but there must be more bushcrafters in your area.
There's a chap from Compton Pauncefoot who runs courses in that area http://www.westcountrybushcraft.co.uk/ might be worth getting in touch with him, maybe he'd be able to help. FYI I don't know the chap but saw him in this YouTube video

No problem. The woods are common land so the access is free however you would need special permission to camp/light a fire. We were able to camp there and have a fire due to one of the group owning a property in the village and but he still had to get special permission from someone, not sure who though. The woods are used a lot by various people from dog walkers to schools using it for wide games. That said its still a nice place to spend some time.

Ok that is good to know. Maybe I'll venture for the day this weekend. I just need a spot where I can get out and practise a bit of bushcraft and do a few over nighters (with a few craft ales ). Thanks again
