Small Bag or pouch advice please

Thought I'd ask the community again, as you guys always have the best ideas 👍


As per title...

I need to find 1 leakproof bag that will accommodate my 1.6ltr. Tatonka cooking pot and maybe a few extra bits.

Dimensions about 10" x10" for the bag ...


And another for my Stanley brew kit and hobo stove. The kit fits perfectly inside the stove...

Bearing in mind I would like to stay under the £20 mark for both ...

What do you guys use to carry the pot and utensils in?
I'm fed up of smudging soot all inside my rocket pouches , and /or having to carry plastic carrier bags for this purpose ...
Surely there's a better way...?

I see Wayland has a very nice selection of Leather bags that accommodate all of his pots and brew kits etc.
But for the life of me I can't find any on evilbay or anywhere.
All I found leatherwork is prohibitively expensive...

I know, I probably should have a go at making my own , and I probably will one day , but it's another set of tools and skills and time , which I haven't got a lot of....




in the meantime is there a place to buy waxed canvas sacks and pouches of different sizes ?


Or is there a handy person on here that would be able to make a couple of these bags ?


Or should I just get some cheap small waterproof sacks type of the ones for kayaking etc and just make do with that?


I hope I can get some good ideas from you guys...

Try Bilmo. He sorted my requirements rapidly, reasonably and competently. A great guy to deal with and one of our own.

If you like leather what about a simple drawstring pouch

I'v seen them made with just a circle of leather (charity shop jacket maybe?) A few holes punched around the edge and then a paracord drawstring.....thats it, done
Not leakproof exactly but certainly soot proof

If you'd of posted this last week.. there was a leather 3 settee and 2 chairs dumped near where i live.

I could of cut you some off.. but when i looked next day council must been and took it

Only got one leg left on them , the other is nearly cut into squares and charred in the charred cloth tin 👍😁

Not around here mate.. when the council started charging a tenner each item to take away large house hold items.. folk just start dumping stuff all over the estate.

Sign of the times.. all cost cutting measures

I got some of the Karrimor dry bags from sports direct. Should get a pair for £15.

You could try a mix of bathroom sealant & turps then give it a dip. OR just smear over the material, Dow-Corning-781 from my experience is nigh on impossible to remove from overalls and available in black.

There was a guy on ebay making up waxed canvas bags not too long ago, i bought one for about £15 ish delivered, its been ideal for the tatonka and other billy's / kettles. Can't seem to find him anymore however.

Why would you need something leakproof for that? I even prefer something which isn't in the closest thing waterresistant for my cookwear, since it can dry out better after use if i missed something while drying it off.
