Is it possible to buy these military tents in Europe?
U.S. Cavalry is one dealer in the US. Are there more?
Any used tents on the surplus market?

You can get them on ebay quite frequently. Also the icp improved combat shelter which is the same shelter made by another big manufacturer.
I got one last year for a very reasonable price brand new unissued.

So keep searching ebay you will get a bargin.

Ive seen the grade 1 tents go for $50-70 and new ones between $90-120

The ICP improved combat shelter has one great plus as it comes with the green footprint that Eureka now has taken away from the new TCOP,s.
I thought that the ICP was Eureka-made. The other big manufacturer as you said, is that Diamond?

Its made by orc industries, diamond do a version similar to the tcop, but their main tent is the usmc 2 man tent.

Ive used my icp quite alot over the last year the porch is great for putting rucksack and boots in and the front over hang at the main entrance enables you to cook without getting out of the tent and still have relitivley good cover.
The fly sheet can also be used on its own as a bivi or a quick shelter.

The only mood point is the height of the tents as they are designed as low profile tents. So this means you can just about sit up in the mid section but the edges you have to be crouched.

Its only a minor point i would recommend one to anybody.

Herese some pics of the ICP. they are mostly in the ACU digital camo as that is the us current issue but you can still find the woodland camo version but they tend to be well used or very expensive if new as they are quite scarce in that condition.
I have also seen some olive green/desert tan revesible ones made by all three manufacturers Diamond, Orc industries and eureka

Thank´s Mike. I took a look at the Orc Industries website and this is a new tent for me. Before this I thought Eureka produced the only US-made ones.
One thing that I have been thinking of as another minus is the short rain fly on the TCOP,s. In my northern snowy reality up here in Swedish Lapland
the fly could have been much longer and why not all the way to the ground. It would be nice to find some close up pictures on the ICP by Orc to see
if their rain fly is bigger than the fly made by Eureka.

Great :) :) I was asking for the pics just as you were putting them out :D

I have never physically handled the TCOP only the ICP so its hard for me to fully compare the two.

If I'm using the fly on its own it is quite big I am 5ft11 and if I lye down across the horizontal length there is a good 12 inches or so of space either end of me (feet and head) If you look in the pictures of the inside of the tent that is a US issue thermarest which is about 6ft long and you can see how much space there is on either side of it in the inner tent alone.
The porch area I can normally (when using the inner tent as well) fit a 100L bergen and a pair of size 11 boots with a bit of space spare for kit pulled out of the bergen so if you imagine removing the body of the tent and just using the fly and poles as a bivi there is plenty of room under it for one person. two people would be very cramped.
You can also suspend the flysheet and use it as a tarp.

I happend to find one used Eureka ICS Improved Combat Shelter in Woodland camo from the US at Ebay and bought it today.
As i have tried to read everything that I´ve come across about the Eureka TCOP and the Eureka ICS tents I have understand that this old version
with only one vestibule and a footprint is a really good choice and hard to find. Therefore the high price (250USD) didn´t discouraged
me and though I know that there might pop up much cheeper ones on the internet I snatched it because I really wanted it.
Here are some pictures from the seller. Just can´t wait to have the tent here in snowy swedish Lapland :)

Old thread but does anyone know where these are available in the UK or can recommend a good 4 season 1 man tent with sitting up height and a big enough vestibule for cooking?

I use a Henry Shires Tarptent 1 which has been brilliant. Spacious, easy to live in with two useful and usable porches and a bomb-proof construction and, as a bonus, pleasingly light and compact. Might be worth a look.

That's a nice looking tent and from what people have said a good company to buy from. How long have you had it and what was your total spend? The new version looks like it has some nice updates over the original too.
