I've never owned any TAD gear. But here's my take on it.

£381 for a jacket? Manufacturing, materials, product design and overheads will be a very small proportion of that price. You could probably get a bespoke one made for that. As such you are mainly paying for marketing and brand.

Hence the question , but i'd tend to agree. Would be interesting to hear from someone who owns some however.

Way overpriced appealing to yesteryear overseas security wages, nowhere to go and nowhere to spend!

Sent from my hidey hole using Tapatalk... sssh!

Lol! - It indeed is pricey and i'm happy to admit far, far more than i'm happy to pay but equally i see alot of people investing in Maxpedition items or Kifaru which i tend to put in the same bracket.

Would be interested to hear from one who owns some however.

I owned a fleece when they started out and even with a good exchange rate I had second thoughts at the time and it was unde half that in dollar, however it went through alot and lasted 5 odd years so it was definatly worth it. I had read somewhere that they were now MIC though

I have a 10yr old regatta fleece that I hammer. Cost me £9.99 and its still going strong.

Rather if this thread didn't turn into a negative analysis of personal choice. We all have different tastes and different budgets. Thanks in advance.

of course it can but then why don't we all own just 1 mora each.... my point is TAD designed and made decent gear that was value for money when they first started out, now not so much

I've had a Stealth Jacket for a number of years, can't remember when I bought it. Hard wearing, water proof and packed with loads of features, pit zips, poacher pocket, pouches inside pockets, etc. Smart enough to be worn about town and tough enough for the big outdoors. Light wight and packs up small. Has outlasted gore tex jacket and performs better. If you have the funds go for it...

I own the ranger fleece, stealth , protearian merino hoody, special service sweater, DC covert pants, RS coverts, and several pairs of the AC F10 cargo pants and shorts - what do you want to know?
I love my gear, very expensive , but incredibly well made and long lasting and looks good out , pub or on the hill .

Hi , Just really wanted an honest review and appraisal , does it all come up to scratch ? stitching good ? From what you've said it sounds like its very long lasting kit that delivering well.

Mine has all been excellent, very well made , designed and thought out. Very robust I wouldn't swap any of it. I'm outdoors a lot in various capacities and love my TAD gear
