Munro is a terrific pack but not designed for walking distances nor is the Centurio but it will allow expansion with side pockets.

Karimoor predator 30?

IME, daysacks make poor rucksacks when expanded with extra pouches and stuff
I know its more money but i'd suggest Buying a daysack and something larger for extended trips

Can you suggest any? I mean, thinking again now, the air jet bag is not modular to my knowledge. So... I wouldn't want to spend more than about £60 on it.

Have you considered not having a modular pack? All those attachments, zips and buckles add to the weight you will have to carry. You can make your load out modular simply by separating your gear into separate plastic bags. If you don't fill your pack up for a short walk, compress it more.

A better back system and a lighter pack would be my suggestion.

The predator 30 is a good compromise 'twixt walking pack and expandable day pack; I've been walking with mine these past days in really hot and humid conditions carrying twenty - twenty five pounds over ten to twelve miles at a time and I've found it very comfortable indeed. It's not a very heavy pack and you could expand it loads on the front, sides and belt if you want; I don't do that, so can't comment on how it carries with stuff strapped/molle'd on, but I suspect it'd be fine. They're on offer on Sports Direct at the moment for sixty notes...............

Sandbender: "Have you considered not having a modular pack?"

Personally, I quite like the idea of PLCE side pouches to add on and having a few molle bits and pieces, I thought it would be quite useful as a way of expanding your load capacity without having to get another rucksack. That said, I do understand your point on how all the straps, buckles etc make your pack heavier, so I am after a pack with not loads of webbing, so nothing like one of those "tacticool" rucksacks. Thanks for the advice!!!
