These films are some of the best things I've seen in a long time; there's so much interesting stuff here, ingenious solutions to what must have been very harsh problems in conditions of great hardship in those times.

Diving for Gold (1969)
* 8:20 - 10:13 : Setting up the camp
* 12:55 - 13:20 : Vacuum mining the gold from the bottom of a river.
* 14:40 - 15:27 : Some 80 years old gold miners' sauna.
* 15:28 - 17:18 : Vacuum mining.
* 17:57 - 18:27 : Building a bridge over the river.

According to the documentary, the divers found a total of 62 grams of gold during the day shown at the end of the film.
 
"The Border Guards: Modern Warriors" (1961)
  • 01:02 - 04:23. Border Guard patrol sets on to patrol the wilderness of Lapland during wintertime.
  • 04:24 - 05:55. The patrol rests for a few hours in a log cabin of their own design.
  • 05:56 - 07:04. The patrol inspects a remote logging camp.
  • 07:05 - 08:06. Patrol makes a rakotuli fire and arrives back to the base camp.

"The Border Guards: the Rescuing Pilots" (1963)
  • 01:27 - 06:15 = A helicopter is alarmed to rescue an injured man from a remove fell.
  • 06:16 - 12:28 = A bush plane transports a sick man from a remove lake to the hospital.
