Sussex Bushcraft Group - January Meet?

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Bring food. There is a small Tesco down the road but someone would have to drive you. There might be a hotplate over the fire to fry stuff but can't remember who brings it & if they're coming.

Bring some cash to pay for the stay (£5 per 24 hour period)

Drink is fine. The times I've been it hasn't been a major factor but it's certainly not prohibited

Don't forget a chair/something to sit on by the fire!

Update - It looked like my new bag would arrive in time, but I have an email now that says not only did they not post it today (no it wont be here tomorrow) but due to a stock issue they have the wrong size.

So NO SLEEPING BAG! :(

Gonna have to bail on this as I dont want to be cold and I don't trust my current bag if the temp drops.

Might see you Saturday arvo though.

Sorry again.

Mike

I have a 58 pattern bag you can borrow if you want, which lives in boot in winter so I will have it with me. Not the best in sub 0 temps but this one is not too bad if you want to give it a go.

Pitch D1 is fine if we can get it & is my preferance (apart from the firewood). Not sure if I can make Friday, as it will be a last minute call but will be there Saturday if not. Looking forward to this one as it should be bigger.

Weather due to be shocking... I've got a new coat, tarp & have redesigned my UQ so hopefully it will work. If not, I'll be sleeping in the Mondeo!

Should be there tomorrow afternoon, got a few things to sort out in the morning, just make sure the kettle is hot please.

Sorry chaps, events kind of over took us today after a very late night for the boys last evening at the the band concert they were both playing in, we will try and get down there tomorrow for a day though.

Hope you are having fun?

Great weekend, as usual! Thanks to Neil & Luke for the parachute & fire, Neumo & Hugo for organising it & everyone else who made it such a blast!

Home now & everything hung up to air in the garage. Looking forward to being a bit warmer/more comfortable tonight!

Thanks for being good company everyone, as always I enjoyed myself immensely.
And cheers to the newcomers for turning up, as you company was enjoyed, especially to Heavenly Messenger the bringer of good tidings.

Great meet with great perople. Another relaxed get togeather under the chute, with the fire always burning & the converstaion interesting. It was good to see some new faces as well as those that are now becoming regulars. I had a chat with Neil aboutthe next one & it will probably be posted in the next week or so. The middle to end of the month seems to be the most popular, so we will look at dates around then. Thanks to all those who made it for another marvelous weekend.

shame i couldn't make it:( but my van now has a new MOT :D

WILL make the next one, work is different now so should be able to make it on friday nights too.
