Twisting Buck Saw question.

Hi everyone, I'm going to make myself a wooden buck saw.

Do they ever twist/ pivot on the main cross strut when under tension?
Would a round joint be OK or does it need to be a square join to stop any twisting?

I made mine with a square mortise and tendon joint easier to do with a chisel, but I suppose its under enough tension it might not twist if you just use a round joint...........

I would say a round joit would tist if you caught a stck blade. Would not like to have a twisty buck saw.

I've tried to make a few in the woods, & they have all twisted.

I gink matts asking about the join to use rather than the wood itself twisting.
