(funny this english, I mean to put a skin on, not take it off...)

Got hold of a wood and canvas kayak in need of a little work.

its missing its deck. the hull is made from some material which is cloth on the inside and plastic on the outside.

I dont know what this material is called; otherwise I could search for it.

What do you think it is? alternativley you may have something suitable; I need 1 metre by twos worth

Sounds like t could be GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic/Polymer) layers of woven fibreglass cloth which are then coated in resin.

Tough to say much without having seen it. Most of my expertise is in surfboard repair, however i grew up making kayaks for my sister and I so happy to offer any advice you may need.

Come to think of it now im reminiscing about the sweet smell of resin, that could well explain my little "quirks".......... theres the first piece of advice wear a mask if your using resin in a confined space
